Du Wang

Du Wang (1956) grew up in the People's Republic of China during the Cultural Revolution. To him art meant the production and reproduction of propaganda. In 1989 Du Wang landed in jail for several months because of his controversial artistic and intellectual activities. From 1990 he has lived and worked in France. The exhibition ‘Disposable Reality’ (2000), questioning media and image representation, is still defining for his current body of work. He examines the implications of globalization on data flow and describes it as a post-reality.
